1 day before taiwan!

hee, 1 more day i will be leaving for taiwan :P i just pray that weather will be good unlike what the forcast predicts...

have been playing with the cors system. last nite got a shock when ee3207 lecture is changed from thurs 10-12 to wed 1800 to 2000 hrs! what the hell! i dun wan evening classes lah. the change was due to a clash with ee2009 which some pple may take together. wah rao, stupid ece dept, make this kind of stupid mistake and realise it so late, resulting in such a stupid timing for the lecture. and it's the lousy LT, LT7!!! smelly and no ac power. how am i gg to survive? i dun wan to print my notes lah!

would be taking EE2001, a heavy project module. would be super time-consuming. hope i can have fun while finishing this project, and also scoring an A for that.

EE3207 is computer architecture, 70% project. well also time-consuming. no official lab sessions. so own time own target finish the intro labs and finish the project too. it's programming once again :p

EE3204 is computer communication networks 1. some signals stuff i guess. know nuts abt it, no ivle page, nothing. stupid lecturer. must be sleeping.

EG2401 is engineering professionalism. should be similar to critical writing. maybe some ethics and stuff. that means i have to write essays lah lols.

the last module i hope is an arts gem. currently have choices gek1006, gek1005, gem2000. the others not that interesting lol. but i have a restriction. that is only 333 general acct points. gek1006 should be hard to get. gek1005 should be ok cuz one year nv provide this module le, maybe pple dunno it's quite ok de. gem2000 should be ok too maybe around 300 points. i dunno lah. just pray hard.

if cannot get any arts gem at the end, i may choose ee3206, that is intro to computer vision and image processing :P 20% labs, formal lab reports, which i haven't written before. 80% exam. should be quite lax, according to a blogger lol.

well enough of bidding. but that's the only thing on my mind now. bo bian, this is the third year i gg thru this thingy le. it has been headache-inducing lol.

taiwan taiwan, here i come! i wan food. i wan new clothes. i wan new experience :P

just an entry

hmm around 1 week's time, i will fly off to taiwan for a vacation :P well, rather excited. first time gg to taiwan :P food, games, scenery, and of course the pple gg with me :)

this week nothing much, except for one rather unusual incident. i fetched a nun back to her temple :P i was intending to drive to the barber for a haircut, but near my house there, i saw a nun having difficulty walking, and she seemed to be hitch-hiking lols, though no hand sign. so i stopped and she said she wanted a lift to a nearby bus-stop. then i said ok lor. on the car, she said her temple near eunos, and she willing to give a lil money. i thought that since i was in no hurry, so i just decided to give her lift back to her temple, and said no need to her money.

on the car, she fell asleep lols, cuz of some traffic jam due to some lame road works. i was then wondering wah nuns also can like that fall asleep. lols. maybe i was used to some stereotyping on tv le lols, that's why i was a lil surprised. she woke up near her place to guide me there cuz i didn't know the exact location. i didn't need to wake her up, if not it will feel rather weird to wake an old nun like her.

it was a nice experience :) anyway i was free mah :P at that time i just hoped that my good deed would help my uncle's recovery. that was just a thought la, i didn't ask the nun to pray for him or not, cuz i think all these are in the heart. i helped her also not becuz i wanted some thing in return.

and of course yesterday was 10th month :P went out, got a lil parking fine (oops i haven't paid the fine yet), basically spending time together. i like her present, she likes mine too :P hee cuz 2 months nv celebrate together, so this month was rather important :) i made efforts in my present, i think it was damn tiring to make a jigsaw puzzle of 500 pieces. but the satisfaction came when i completed it :P i even took photos to show the development each day. i spent around 3 day :P a bit slow, ya cuz long time nv make a jigsaw puzzle le.

okie, end of entry :)

public transport?

was reading stomp articles, and saw an article abt overcrowding buses esp during peak hours. this problem was present since long long ago.

i rmb i had to squeeze up the buses when i took bus back home from school like around 6 plus. i could even miss buses. the govt keeps encouraging us to take public transport, but it hasn't realised that there are so many factors keeping us away from buses. yet, it is making things difficult for pple driving. indirectly, it would be making the problem of overcrowding buses worse.

i guess the govt can make the bus companies increase the frequencies esp during peak hours. but it seems like they didn't. one of the reasons i can think of is that they don't even know the crux of the problem. they dun even take any public transport. they are chauffeured around. they are really only 纸上谈兵.

i dunno when the govt would even realise this. maybe they have realized the problem. maybe they are just simply helpless in controlling the bus companies. singapore's bus companies are profit-first. they simply do not care about the commuters' welfare. i guess it is only when some accidents happen due to overcrowding, and cause some noise among the public, then they will do something about it. i guess this is quite a common sequence of events in singapore.

also, i just realise that bus companies do not get fined for having overcrowded buses, unlike taxis! is there a conspiracy? maybe not, cuz conspiracy is too heavy a word to use. i guess maybe there isn't a clause in the traffic rules that traffic police has to follow. by having fines, i guess this is the best way to solve this kinda problem in singapore. singaporeans, and singaporean companies, are just scared of fines. this is the culture inculcated by the early govt, that is to scare our pple, scare the companies, to prevent them from doing something that is wrong, or deemed to be wrong by our govt leaders.

ok, enough of rambling :P

super belated blog

hahaha i waited around a month to blog about my experience in china...hahaha partly due to my laziness but also due to the tight schedule i had...after arrival in singapore on june 8, i thought i had only 1 week to finish my TIP report (due to reservist), so i chiong for the whole week... then i went for 2 weeks of reservist trg from 16 to 27 june... then i rested for many days due to plain exhaustion maybe plus a bit of laziness lols.

today then i officially continue to write my report which is due on 10 july. should have ample time to finish lols.

alrite back to china trip. it was a fun trip with fun loving pple. though we were rather suay to have met the earthquake that led to many changes in the itinerary, the final itinerary turned out to be good, and i think it's better than the 1st 2 weeks of the trip itself. i guess this is probably due to more rest time and more fun time for the final 2 weeks lols.

the 1st week was rather tough for me, especially for the lack of sleep. we simply slept too little lah. at that time, i was wondering whether i can tahan through the whole trip. we went to hongkong, guangzhou, shanghai on the first week. so much travelling itself is tiring. plus the living conditions weren't really comfortable. besides, i have some conflicts with dear then due to some communication problem. all these resulted in a very sullen mood during the first week.

2nd week was much better, we were in nanjing and beijing. minimal travelling. better accomodation. and also because dear was more understanding, and she emo-ed less luckily :) and yeah i climbed the great wall :) shiok. though tiring. i was one of the first few to reach the top of what we can climb :) hahaha not bad sia, considering i am not v fit.

3rd week we went to tianjin and stayed almost a week there. air condition there is not good cuz there is sand in the wind but it's ok when no wind blows. the schedule is lax there towards the end of tianjin stay because there is last minute changes due to earthquake near xi'an which was supposedly our next stop. but it's good in a sense, rest was what i craved for.

after which we went to wen zhou for a light itinerary. this was arranged by anderson's friend 施永川老师. it was really light, yet inspiring. it was short trip before we went to xiamen where there are really many singaporeans doing business there. we met singaporean bosses, had casual talks with them, get inspired, get motivated, learn about our advantages and disadvantages as a Singaporean doing business in China. i like the food in xiamen, cuz it's closest to singaporean food, make me feel closer to home :) i also like the dialect there cuz it's hokkien and i can understand, unlike when i was in guangzhou and hongkong, cantonese was all over the place, and i could barely understand.

all in all, this china biz trip was really an enriching experience. although it was tough in the beginning, it was overall a nicely paced trip. i like the pple i meet in the group. i like the intangibles i have learnt in china. i like the overall feel of the pple there. i like the overall feel of the country. i guess i can go there for a vacation, going to see 兵马俑 which we have missed out when we took away xi'an from the trip. go to see other historic monuments. go and see the villages and the pple there. china is such a intriguing place especially with the history it has, and which i havent really had much knowledge of.

back in singapore, i am back with my dear. that's what i look forward to whenever the trip was really tough. absence really makes hearts fonder lols. missed her everyday, even though there were many instances when she emo-ed and i also sian.

the week before reservist, i spent with dear and my lappie. do report. duang around with dear. that's all i did i guess.

reservist was rather lax this time. less sai gang, less packed schedule. at least i get to sleep more often during this ICT, compared to the last. i guess it has to do with the new OC we had. less shit is passed down to us i guess. or maybe i didn't have any bad experience with the OC ba, compared to the 1st ICT, when i had some unhappy experience with the OC, who wun be coming back at least for 1 more year ba. hope he just goes away lah. his admin skills really cmi lah, maybe i am biased but ya what i know is that i get a lot of shit to do.

initially i wun be booking out for 2 whole weeks, which happened to be untrue. i got to book out on the 1st week's friday nite luckily, due to some luck also. cuz we voted for 4 of 12 drivers to take part in the live firing which is on saturday, and those pple booked out only on sunday morning. they are really korlian. but it's just luck. i prepared for the worst already, but sometimes i get lucky when i dun think i will be lucky lols.

the 2nd week' major event is the 2 day 1 nite outfield. before that on monday we got a whole day + nite training. so it was rather tiring for us to go on an outfield the next morning. the outfield was rather ok, except for the mosquitoes that bit me on that nite when i was trying to sleep. i didn't sleep well. most probably i wasn't used to outfield already lols. but this kind of thing i also dun wan to get used to it lols. throughout the outfield plus the training on monday, i breathed in dunno how much of mosquito coil smoke lols. 3 whole days of mosquito coils burnt. it's mad lah lols. passive smoker lols. but for the sake of repelling mosquitoes, i guess i have no choice but to be a temporary passive smoker :P

before bookout, there's an unhappy incident. me and jackson kanna arrowed by his VC to "touch up" on the vehicle shed. his reason was because we didn't go and clean the place earlier on when the rest of platoon went. but i was rather sure there were pple who didn't go. but he purposely aimed us lah. basket him lor. initially i didn't wan to do de but cuz it affects my out-processing, i just went to do lor. just do lor. bo bian. if he had given a better reason, i would have done it with less grudges. but because of his f-uped face when he talked to us, i really was angry. but nvm, at least i know his pattern liao personally, after hearing so many stories from jackson about him.

alrite now i am back as a civilian, i got to finish my work as fast as possible. look forward to the upcoming taiwan trip on 26th july to 31st july. yeah :) i will be back blogging...upon continuous pushing and external motivation i guess lols
